Christmas

Our Christmas was absolutely wonderful!  We spent Christmas Eve with my parents and Ky & Randi.  Then Santa left presents for the boys for Christmas morning.  Justin’s family came over for brunch and lunch on Christmas day.  It was a pretty eventful day.  I don’t think the boys really had any idea what was going on.  We have been telling Kasen for the past week or so that baby Jesus’ birthday was coming up, but I think it went over his head.  On Christmas morning I went to get him out of his bed and this was our conversation:

Me:  Kasen, guess who came last night!

Kasen:  Gammy??

Me:  No silly…Santa Clause!

I got a new laptop for Christmas and Photoshop for my birthday, so hopefully I will be a little better at uploading pictures and updating my blog!  I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

19 months & 6 months

Kasen has just now started paying a little more attention to Jaxon. Jaxon has started to walk all over the kitchen in his walker and of course Kasen thinks he needs to be pushed.

Party @ Grandma's

Kasen played Basketball and Baseball while Jaxon played with the Great Grandmas!

Vacation

Justin and I took a short vacation this weekend. It wasn't much, but it was nice to get away for a few days. We went to Dallas on Saturday and came back yesterday. I made Justin endure a Rangers game, a day at Hurricane Harbor, and a day at Six Flags. In return, he got to buy a new gun at Cabelas on the way home. I had a blast. It did make me realize that I am not quite as young as I used to be. Those roller coasters sure are a lot rougher than I had remembered. Although we went 90 miles an hour during the day, it was still pretty relaxing. We both got 3 full nights of sleep, which is more than I can say for my parents and Justin's parents. They took turns watching the boys. He are a few pics from the trip. I will have to post some of Kasen and Jaxon with their presents later. We bought Jaxon a superman onesie that came with a cape and Kasen a batman cape and a tazmanian devil. I thought it was appropriate since we call him Taz all the time.

Painted the House

When we were considering buying our house, Justin and I talked about what work we would have to do to it. We both agreed that the only things that we "had" to do was take down the wallpaper and paint the outside. Supposedly painting the outside was going to be the very first thing we did. Well, as most of you know, we have done a ton of work to the house. And of course, we are just now getting around to painting the outside. I guess it was worth the wait. I absolutely love it. Here are a couple of before and after shots. I am going to go ahead and take all of the credit for the paint colors!
BEFORE:
After:
Disregard the horrible yard, the toddler in not shorts, and the horrible front door. I am hoping that will be my anniversary present!

Pulling Weeds

Our yard is full of weeds. I think we are just going to start over in the fall. Justin was pulling weeds for the goats to eat the other day, so Kasen decided he should help. Of course, once he saw me taking pictures, he had to come pose for the camera.

Baby Food

Jaxon has officially started eating baby food on a regular basis. His favorites are sweet potatoes and carrots. He was so messy that after he got finished we had to give him a bath. He is actually getting much better.

Kasen's Tree House

For those of you who haven't seen our new (almost 1 year now) house, it has a great tree house in the backyard. Kasen absolutely loves it. At first, Justin and I wouldn't let him go down the slide alone, but after a while Justin got tired of going down with him. My Dad and a family friend of ours actually got stuck going down with Kasen. Too bad I didn't get any pictures of that. Here are a few pics of him climbing up and sliding down all by himself. He is getting so BIG!

Monthly Updates

Okay...so I haven't been very good at posting on a regular basis. I have been taking a ton of pictures, but I just can't find the time to take them off my camera or post them on the blog. I have been very consistent. Once a month I seem to find the time to add about 3 or 4 new posts. We have been very busy since my last post, so I am going to post several things all at the same time. The boys are growing like weeds and becoming more and more spoiled each day.

Sick Babies

Last Wednesday Jaxon was running a 102 temp, so I decided I should stay home and take him to the doctor. Kasen had been a little fussy the past few nights and wouldn't eat much, so Justin thought I should take him too. Personally, I thought it was completely unnecessary! I almost didn't even take Jaxon. So, I loaded up both boys and waited at Dr. Nabulsi's office for two hours. You can only imagine how fun that was. Anyone who saw us would have never guessed that the boys weren't feeling well, especially Kasen! Turns out they both had ear infections. Both of Kasen's ears were infected. They were so bad that he had to have a shot. Only one of Jaxon's was infected, but he also had thrush. Needless to say, I am the worst mother ever. I almost didn't take either one of them to the doctor. Here are two pictures from that afternoon.

Justin's B-Day Present

Since Kasen had surgery on Justin's birthday, we ended up celebrating a little late. Okay...so we didn't really celebrate. We went to academy and bought him a bike. He tried to convince me to buy one too, but when the heck would we have time to ride together. I also don't want to put Kasen or Jaxon on the back of mine because it is highly likely that I would crash. Anyway here are a couple of pictures of Justin making a few adjustments to it. I am also posting a picture of Justin testing it out. He would absolutely kill me if he knew I posted it. I guess it is a good thing that he isn't much of a blogger!

Daddy's Little Helper

Kasen LOVES being outside. He makes Justin take him to feed the dogs and the goats everyday!

March Madness

I know it is April, but I was too busy in March to actually post my March Madness pictures. I have now offically converted my entire family. Okay, Justin didn't come willingly. I basically held the remote hostage. He isn't much of a basketball fan. I just don't understand.

Meet Joe Cool

Ok...so I know I haven't posted in forever and this is definitely not of much importance, but I couldn't resist. Isn't Kasen so cute! We bought these sunglasses for him when we went to his doctor's appointment in Lubbock a few weeks ago. He absolutely loves them. I can't believe he actually keeps them on.

New Pictures

We took family pictures on Sunday. Sally, our photographer, is absolutely wonderful. Be sure to check out her blog. There is a link on the right hand side of my blog. Here are a couple of pictures I stole off her blog.

Of course, Kasen wouldn't really cooperate. He was much more interested in the ducks! Then there was Jaxon...he didn't even crack a smile. I was also a little disappointed because I didn't end up trying to get any of them together. Oh well, maybe next time.

The Boys with Papa

Jaxon and Papa

Kasen and Papa

Good News

Jaxon had a check-up with the cardiologist on Wednesday and everything went great. He weighed 12lbs, so he is definitely a healthy eater! They did an EKG and an echo. The Dr. said that the upper hole is almost closed and the bottom hole is getting smaller. He said that he doesn't have to come back until he is one. That is wonderful news because we were taking him for check-ups every six weeks. We are so thankful that God healed Jaxon so quickly.

Baby Goat

Our goat had a baby! We originally had three goats and the dogs brutally killed two of them. So then we were left with the three dogs, a borrowed donkey, and one lonely goat. Now we have a baby goat to add to the mix. I have never been a fan of goats, but he is actually pretty cute. Kasen loves him. He always points outside and the to the bucket we use to feed him. Here are a few pics I took of them yesterday. The baby and the mama are currently in a separate little pen so the dogs and the donkey won't hurt them.

New Car

I have been promising to post pictures of my new car for a few weeks now. I just keep forgetting! It is a Buick Enclave. My brother in-laws asked if I was 90. I know Buicks are usually for older people, but I absolutely love it!!! It is the perfect size. It has a skylight in the second row and Kasen absolutely loves it. It is also going to have DVD players in the headrests. We actually bought it before the dealer installed them so we will have to take it back for a day so they can install them.
